In Core Keeper, your avatar is dropped into a mysterious dark cavern. You find yourself in a room with a powered-down core, connected to three statues that seem to require gemstones to run. What now? Once you feel that you have solid equipment, you're going to want to start hunting for Glurch. Glurch is the first boss; it is a giant slime that is constantly jumping in place. You'll have to explore the area around the Core and listen for a slamming sound.

Alternatively, you can also hunt down monsters in their natural habitat in specific biomes in Core Keeper, you can achieve this by building traps to catch the monsters.
Once you find Glurch, you'll want to try to clean up the area near this massive monster. Pick up any slime tiles on the ground and kill any enemies in the area. Then, move in toward Glurch and start dealing damage.

Fishing Merchant can be summoned to a room using the Pile of chum guaranteed drop. Or they can be found before that, in a house in the Wilderness. They sell fish and fishing accessories.
